one day finding yourself faced with allegations of misconduct or negligence.  Professional school administrators must make quick decisions every day dealing with parents, students, employees, supervisors, and other agencies, many of which can lead to legal charges and repercussions.  We know all too well that administrators are constantly faced with the possibility of legal charges, counter charges, class actions, Professional Practices Commission hearings, DCF actions, hearing officers, civil rights complaints, and the list goes on.

The DASA Legal Defense Assistance Plan

is provided free with membership.  If a member feels that a legal defense situation is likely to develop as related to employment, free limited consultation with the DASA General Counsel is readily available.  They should contact the DASA office immediately.  Upon authorization, a member may engage their attorney of choice and DASA will pay up to $4500 per incident toward the legal fees, on a 50% matching basis.  Nobody is immune to charges whether false or valid.  In either case, DASA will always be there when a member needs support.
